Take the E18 towards Oslo/Karlstad. In Karlstad take road 62 towards Trysil. Gunnerud is approximately 95 km north of Karlstad. Cross the bridge over the river Klarälven at Edebäck, then turn right after approximately 700 metres. Sign Vildmark i Värmland at the road.
To Klarälvens Camping continue on road 62 for 45 km more. At the crossing of roads 62 and E45 (just north of Stöllet), turn left and take E45 towards Göteborg/Torsby for app. 300 metres. Sign Klarälvens Camping at the road.
Take the E18 towards Oslo/Karlstad. In Karlstad take road 61 towards Arvika. Turn right on E45 towards Sunne/Torsby/Mora. Turn right at the roundabout in Torsby. The meetingplace at Torsby Motor Museum (Torsby Fordonsmuseum) is to be found to your left, before you reach the center of Torsby (left after the pedestrian crossing).

Take E45 towards Karlstad. Just after Grums, E45 goes off to the left, follow E45 towards Mora until you reach Torsby. Turn right at the roundabout in Torsby. The meetingplace at Torsby Motor Museum (Torsby Fordonsmuseum) is to be found to your left, before you reach the center of Torsby (left after the pedestrian crossing).
To Klarälvens Camping you pass by Torsby. In Vägsjöfors E45 turns off to the right towards Stöllet/Mora. Follow E45 to the river Klarälven, cross the bridge over the river, then take the first right. Sign Klarälvens Camping.
If you go by public transport take aim at Karlstad, the transport node in Värmland. But please be aware that you can buy your ticket to the destination Gunnerud(Hagfors), Stöllet or Torsby from all larger cities in Sweden even if you have to change to bus/ train in Karlstad. From Gothenburg you can go by train or bus to Karlstad. From Stockholm you can go by by train, bus or flight, and from Copenhagen you can take the train or bus. From Oslo you reach Karlstad by bus or train.
You can also reach Karlstad by flight from Frankfurt.
The bus station is approximately 400 m. from the railway station. To get to Gunnerud (Hagfors kommun) you take bus 600 from Karlstad. Tell the busdriver that you want to get off at the busstop "Gunnerudsgården", otherwise you might just pass by!
To get to Klarälvens Camping you take the same bus (600) from Karlstad, but pass by Gunnerud and get off at the Värnäs/Q8 stop. From the stop you cross road 62 and walk along the path past the little fishpond to the camping site. The camping site can be seen from the stop.
On weekends the buses don't go all the way to Gunnerud so you'll have to gett off at the busstop ”Sjögränd”, 4 km south of Gunnerud. Let us know in advance if you arrive with bus to Sjögränd, so we can arrange to pick you up.
Please note! Some homepages (i.e. Resrobot) show that you should change bus in "Sjögrand" even on weekdays. If it says that you should change from bus 600 to bus 600 you don't actually need to leave the bus in "Sjögränd" as it will be the same bus continuing to Gunnerud after a little detour to Hagfors!
If you want to go to Klarälvens Camping during weekends you have to take the train from Karlstad to Torsby first and then the bus from Torsby towards the Klarälven valley and the busstop "Värnäs/ Q8".
From the stop in Gunnerud walk southwards along road 62 (aginst the direction the bus is travelling) and turn left at the sign Vildmark i Värmland, approximately 100 metres from the stop. Follow the gravel road down to our centre.
In Torsby start our canoe tours on Röjdån or Rottnan and the office for Vildmark i Värmland is also situated in Torsby, next to the riding stable. To get to Torsby use the railway bus or normal bus service from Karlstad in accordance with Värmlandstrafik’s timetable, travelling in the direction of Torsby. How to reach the meeting place for your canoe tour at the Motor museum ("Fordonsmuseum") from the railway station is described in detail in your travel documents.
