Personal equipment
WHAT SHOULD YOU CONSIDER BRINGING?
Considering that there is neither electricity nor WiFi in Vildmarksbyn Eden, you need to be prepared for a stay that is ‘back to basic’. Out in the forest, you have the opportunity to relax and set aside your phones and all electronic equipment that characterizes our daily lives. In the evenings, you use candles and storm lanterns for lighting. During the colder seasons, you may even need to keep watch over the fire in the sleeping cabin to prevent it from getting too cold. Even typical summer evenings can be chilly, so keep this in mind when you pack.
- Durable outdoor clothing including long pants. (Even if it’s summer and warm, don’t just bring shorts. When hiking in the forest, it’s very comfortable to wear a pair of pants.)
- Complete change of clothes including shoes/boots.
- Rain gear, the weather can change quickly.
- Hat.
- Gloves.
- Base layer (preferably wool).
- Warm sweater.
- Swimwear.
- Towel.
- Headlamp or flashlight.
- Drinking water.
- Matches.
- Knife.
- Insect repellent.
- Fully charged mobile phone (for safety).
- Food, cooler bag.
If you haven’t purchased the “Beds Made and Ready” option, you should also bring:
- Sleeping bag or blanket, pillow, and sheet.
There are pots and kitchen equipment available for borrowing in Vildmarksbyn Eden during your stay.
