Day 1: Hiking<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

At 10:00 AM, we meet at the reception at Klar\u00e4lvens Camping. Here, you\u2019ll receive all the equipment you\u2019ve pre-booked along with a short briefing on the day\u2019s plan. Together we\u2019ll load your gear, including canoes, and shuttle you to Femt\u00e5n. Before you set off, we\u2019ll guide you through the essentials of paddling technique. Your hike follows a well-marked trail, and you\u2019ll also be provided with a simple map. The terrain is fairly challenging but incredibly scenic\u2014sturdy shoes are highly recommended over sandals.<\/p>\n

Your journey begins where Femtfallet plunges into a natural, pool-shaped lake. (Don\u2019t forget your swimwear, there\u2019s a refreshing dip waiting!)<\/em> From there, the trail climbs along the waterfall. Along the way, you\u2019ll discover traces of a blacksmith\u2019s forge, a sawmill, and a watermill established here in the mid-1800s. In the early 1900s, two power stations also harnessed the river\u2019s force to generate electricity. Above the waterfall, a solid bridge lets you choose which side of the river to start on. The hike forms a scenic loop: follow the trail along one side of Femt\u00e5n, cross the suspension bridge, and continue along the opposite bank. Be sure to bring something to drink and a snack. The full loop takes about 2\u20133 hours.<\/p>\n

Day 1: Paddling<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

When you\u2019ve finished your hike and refreshing swim, head down to the canoe waiting for you on the banks of the majestic Klar\u00e4lven. Pack your gear, settle into the canoe, and begin your journey down the river\u2019s calm, sweeping current. A great spot for your first overnight stay is Munkebol, about 5 km from your starting point. The local community has created a welcoming campsite complete with fire pits, an outhouse, a shelter, and fresh running drinking water. Of course, you\u2019re also free to choose your own campsite in accordance with Sweden\u2019s Right of Public Access<\/em>. You\u2019ll spend the night in the tent provided by us, or in your own tent if you prefer. Day 2: Continue your paddling<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Today you\u2019ll paddle approximately 15 km back to Klar\u00e4lvens Camping. This stretch of the river offers excellent chances to spot beavers, especially at dawn or dusk, so keep your eyes on the water\u2019s edge. Otherwise, simply relax and enjoy the rhythm of the river as your legs get a well-deserved rest and your arms take over from yesterday\u2019s hike.<\/p>\n

Around 2:00 PM, you\u2019ll arrive back at Klar\u00e4lvens Camping. Here, you return your canoe and all related equipment. Day 2: Building the timber raft<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

At 3:00 PM, we meet by the river for a full introduction to your upcoming raft adventure. Then it\u2019s time for you to build your very own timber raft, using nothing but logs and rope. The logs are waiting for you along the riverbank; you\u2019ll roll them into the water and lash them together directly in the river. Once finished, your raft will be an impressive 3 x 3 meters and weigh nearly a ton. A single raft can carry up to seven persons, though you must have at least two adults to operate it safely. Both the construction and the navigation of the raft require solid physical effort, so the more hands, the better. Our instructor will be on site throughout the process to guide and support you.<\/p>\n

When your raft is complete, you\u2019ll moor it and drive your car to the final destination. Park there, and we\u2019ll transport the driver back to the campsite. In the evening, you can unwind in the wood-fired sauna, grill dinner at one of the riverside fire pits, try your luck at fishing, or simply relax after a rewarding few hours of hard work. You\u2019ll spend the night in your tent, or in a cabin if you choose to upgrade.<\/p>\n

Day 3: On the river<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

You decide yourselves when to begin your journey down the river, but expect the trip to take around 5 hours (+\/\u2013 2 hours depending on water levels). Bring food and drinks to enjoy while out on the raft, as well as clothing suited for changing weather conditions. Traveling by log raft means embracing contrasts: moments of complete calm and bursts of full activity. You\u2019ll drift peacefully through the majestic Klar\u00e4lven Valley, until you need to paddle away from overhanging branches or escape swirling backwater. When that happens, everyone needs to dig in and paddle together.<\/p>\n

As you approach your final destination in Bj\u00f6rkebo, you\u2019ll face your last big challenge: landing in the right spot. About 1 km before the endpoint, you\u2019ll see a sign reminding you to paddle out of the main current and move toward the correct side of the river. With teamwork, you\u2019ll nail it! In Bj\u00f6rkebo, return all equipment to the designated area and dismantle your log raft in the boom pocket.<\/p>\n
