You won\u2019t have to rush in the mornings taking down tents or clearing the campsite. With normal water flow, you can even pause the rafting for a day and stay two nights in one spot.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-container block-core-paragraph\"><div class=\"block is-wp-block core-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since we love the whole Klar\u00e4lv Valley\u2014not just the river itself\u2014we\u2019ve put together a list of possible excursions. You can choose nature, culture, or a mix of both. Keep in mind, some sights farther away can be tricky to reach with the raft as your base.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-container block-core-paragraph\"><div class=\"block is-wp-block core-paragraph\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two of our recommended excursions begin directly from Bran\u00e4s, the place where you build your timber raft. Feel free to camp a night at the construction site to enjoy the excursions. However, keep in mind that the raft must still be completed within a reasonable timeframe. We are on-site to support you during the construction of your timber raft. The next day, a short, easy hike can take you to the Utmark Museum in Ransby. There, the museum not only showcases art and the life stories of people from the region, but above all, it houses the famous Pilgrim Tapestry. This 40-meter-long tapestry depicts the pilgrimage route from Hammar\u00f6 to Trondheim, which largely passed through the Klar\u00e4lven Valley. In addition, the museum caf\u00e9 usually serves waffles and other delicious treats.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-container block-core-list\"><div class=\"block is-wp-block core-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Further north, at the foot of Femtfallet near M\u00e5n\u00e4s, a local heritage association often offers a taste of \u201cMotti with pork\u201d. This is a traditional dish that Finnish settlers brought with them when they moved into the forests of western central Sweden (Finnskogen).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-container block-core-media-text\"><div class=\"block is-wp-block core-media-text\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-image-fill-element\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\"><div class=\"block-container block-core-heading\"><div class=\"block is-wp-block core-heading\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nature<\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-container block-core-list\"><div class=\"block is-wp-block core-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Before leaving Bran\u00e4s with your timber raft, a hike to the top of Bran\u00e4sberget is definitely worth the effort. In a short distance, you\u2019ll climb 400 meters in elevation and be rewarded with a breathtaking view over the valley. In addition, this gives you an excellent overview of part of the stretch you will navigate with your timber raft.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block-container block-core-list\"><div class=\"block is-wp-block core-list\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A little further along, just after the Liken\u00e4s Bridge, there\u2019s another opportunity for an impressive hike. From the Klar\u00e4lv River\u2019s bank, follow the tributary Femt\u00e5n and start a trail along the forested river upstream. Right at the beginning, you\u2019ll walk alongside a wild, rushing waterfall.
