New buoyancy aids for canoe tours!

Safety is a top priority at Vildmark i Värmland, whether it’s timber raft trips, canoe tours, accommodation at Klarälvens Camping, or other activities. An important part of our safety work is that a buoyancy aid is always included for every participant in all water-based experiences.

The Buoyancy Aid – A simple way to save lives

Wearing a buoyancy aid is essential for anyone heading out on a water adventure. A buoyancy aid can save lives. If you unexpectedly end up in the water, it usually happens quickly, and your body can go into shock almost regardless of the water temperature. In cold water, there is also a risk of hypothermia. This is why a buoyancy aid should never be used as a seat cushion – it must always be worn on the body, even if you can swim.

We offer buoyancy aids for different body weights. Our new buoyancy aids fit people weighing 40–130 kg. For children up to 40 kg, we have smaller models, both with and without a safety collar. If needed, we also have buoyancy aids for people over 130 kg. It is important to choose the correct size so that the buoyancy aid can function properly in an emergency.

Keep yourself and your buoyancy aid dry

Bring rainwear to make the most of your outdoor experience. The weather in Värmland often changes quickly. When you are sitting in a canoe and the rain starts to fall, it is best to put your rain jacket on over your buoyancy aid. This way, you do not need to take off the buoyancy aid, which reduces the risk of ending up in the water without it. At the same time, you also keep your buoyancy aid dry, which you will appreciate more and more as your trip goes on.
