Faq
Can we shop along Röjdån?
Not really. However, you can hike from the northern end of Lake Kläggen to Östmark, where there is a small ICA grocery store. The walk is about 2.5 km one way.
Are there campsites on Röjdån?
There is a beautiful island in Lake Kläggen with wind shelters, fireplaces, and outdoor toilets. It is an excellent place to stay overnight. Please never leave trash behind and leave the place nicer than you found it.
Are there portages along Röjdån?
Yes. There are two portages in each direction. If you paddle from Torsby to Lake Kläggen and back (Röjdån 3 days), you will encounter these portages both ways. You must carry the canoe and equipment separately — no canoe cart is provided. If you paddle the weekend tour, you start in Kläggen and paddle to Torsby — then there are two portages.

The Valley of Röjdån
Like the mighty river Klarälven, the river Röjdån was once used as a log driving route. If you pay close attention, you may still discover some traces from this historical period during your canoe tour. Today, the banks of the river and lakes are lined with small farms, open meadows and pastures, bathing areas and forests. This tour takes you through lakes and narrow river passages. The northernmost section of the river, north of Lake Kläggen, is too rocky and has water levels too low for canoeing. Therefore, the tour extends from Torsby to the northern end of Lake Kläggen and back.
