The Röjdån is a small river that flows into Lake Övre Fryken in Torsby. The river opens up at some points to create small lakes. Enjoy the beautiful tour through the forested valley with fine views of mountains to the north and west.

Can we shop along Röjdån?

Not really. However, you can hike from the northern end of Lake Kläggen to Östmark, where there is a small ICA grocery store. The walk is about 2.5 km one way.

Are there campsites on Röjdån?

There is a beautiful island in Lake Kläggen with wind shelters, fireplaces, and outdoor toilets. It is an excellent place to stay overnight. Please never leave trash behind and leave the place nicer than you found it.

Are there portages along Röjdån?

Yes. There are two portages in each direction. If you paddle from Torsby to Lake Kläggen and back (Röjdån 3 days), you will encounter these portages both ways. You must carry the canoe and equipment separately — no canoe cart is provided. If you paddle the weekend tour, you start in Kläggen and paddle to Torsby — then there are two portages.

TIMBER RAFT 2 NIGHTS

Build your own timber raft using logs and ropes, then drift along the river Klarälven in Värmland, letting the current guide you. Expect a journey filled with breathtaking scenery and surprises like sandbanks and backwaters along the way. This outdoor experience includes two nights of camping in a tent – the first night at our campsite and the second night along the river.

KLARÄLVEN 7 OR 4 DAYS

Our canoe tours on the river Klarälven are perfect for the whole family as it is free from rapids and power plants. You paddle along the river and choose where you want to camp along the way. We organize all local transportation for your convenience and for environmental sustainability. Arrive at our canoe center in Gunnerud by public bus or car, and we take care of your transport to the starting point. Your journey along the river leads you back towards the canoe center.

ROTTNAN 4 DAYS

The river Rottnan winds its way across the Norwegian-Swedish border and through the old Finnish settlements that are nestled among spruce and pine trees in the forests of Värmland. The journey offers gently flowing water that is suitable for both experienced canoeists and beginners.

The Valley of Röjdån

Like the mighty river Klarälven, the river Röjdån was once used as a log driving route. If you pay close attention, you may still discover some traces from this historical period during your canoe tour. Today, the banks of the river and lakes are lined with small farms, open meadows and pastures, bathing areas and forests. This tour takes you through lakes and narrow river passages. The northernmost section of the river, north of Lake Kläggen, is too rocky and has water levels too low for canoeing. Therefore, the tour extends from Torsby to the northern end of Lake Kläggen and back.
