The season has begun

How we have been longing for this! For the sunshine, for the warmth, for the timber rafts drifting gently downstream and the canoes gliding across sparkling waters. And now, at last, the season is here.
Over the past few days, guests have been paddling on both the Svartälven and Klarälven rivers, as well as through the lakes of Bergslagen. Timber rafts have been built for both shorter and longer journeys. We have welcomed visitors from the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Norway and, of course, Sweden. Now we look forward to meeting even more people from different countries who want to experience unforgettable adventures in nature. Once again, the season is underway.

Nature experiences built on long experience

Vildmark i Värmland has just begun its 47th season! So much has happened over the years.

  • The Klarälven is no longer used for log driving, and loose logs are no longer allowed to travel downstream.
  • Vildmark i Värmland has changed ownership.
  • As one of the first companies, we were awarded the Nature’s Best label, recognizing Swedish ecotourism.
  • Canoe tours have broadened our range of nature experiences, while other activities such as white-water paddling and climbing have gradually disappeared.
  • The entire upper Klarälvdalen has been designated a Natura 2000 area, protecting valuable natural environments while at times presenting new challenges for our operations.
  • Hundreds of seasonal employees have met hundreds of thousands of guests from many different countries over the years.

Every journey is unique

We have learned a great deal over the decades, and perhaps the most important lesson of all is that no two journeys are ever the same.
One decisive factor is usually the weather. Whether there is high or low water in the rivers and lakes, or whether it is raining, windy, or high-summer hot, makes a significant difference when you are out in nature all day.

Personal experience and equipment also play an important role. Setting up a tent or cooking a meal on a camping stove can feel complicated the first time. But the sense of achievement is great once you have found your rhythm and grown comfortable with it.

Most important, however, seems to be your attitude. An experience in nature can never be fully planned. But curiosity and a positive approach to the unexpected can turn even a rainy day into a wonderful adventure.

Would you like to experience a unique and unforgettable journey too?

We offer a wide range of trips by both timber raft and canoe. Choose between a short excursion lasting a few hours or a week-long journey. Bring your family, friends, or colleagues. Enjoy the seclusion together with someone special, or join as a larger group. Here we have gathered all our packaged experiences.
