There’s always something to do!

Summer is our busiest—and most exciting—season. We meet people from all over the world, welcome returning guests, and get to know new and familiar colleagues.
Every day, we create unforgettable experiences, whether it’s a log rafting trip, a canoe adventure, a hike through nature, a beaver safari, or something else entirely.
At the same time, there’s always work to be done behind the scenes. Our facilities need ongoing care and maintenance, and this year we’ve already replaced the roof on one of our storage buildings. We’re also giving our buildings a fresh coat of paint.
Follow along as we share our building and maintenance projects!

Maintenance work

Vildmark i Värmland owns and leases several properties, mainly in the northern Klarälven Valley. Altogether, we look after around 40 buildings that need regular care and attention.
We do our best to repair anything that’s broken and keep everything in good condition. Ongoing maintenance helps prevent bigger problems down the road. Most outdoor work can only be done during the summer, so you might see us painting, repairing, or fixing things while you’re here.
So if you spot one of our log rafting instructors with a bit of red paint on their face, now you know why!
If you notice any damage or something that needs attention during your stay, we’d really appreciate it if you let us know.

Autumn maintenance

In late summer and throughout autumn, we give all our equipment a thorough check. We repaint the storage boxes used on our log rafting trips, wash the canoes, repair torn tents, dry ropes, and take care of countless other tasks.
Keeping everything in good shape takes both time and resources, but it’s an investment we’re happy to make. As part of our commitment to running a sustainable business, we believe it’s important to maintain and repair what we already have instead of replacing it.
The longer we can use our equipment, the better it is for the environment—and, in the long run, for us as well.
